Music Festival Wedding on a Farm in Grand Haven, MI
In these trying and difficult times I find myself looking for as much joy as possible. And to me – there is nothing more joyful than reminiscing on Matt and Rachel’s backyard wedding in Grand Haven this September. Rachel is an incredible wedding photographer herself – and her and Matt crafted the most personal, unique and completely redesigned wedding day.
They got ready together in a tent (and slept in said tent all weekend). They had their friends and family camp out the whole weekend with them and had concerts, a harry potter movie marathon and games. When guests arrived they had a pre-ception with unlimited wood fired pizzas, make your own drinks and music. Everyone paraded to the ceremony site together, drinks in hand to witness the most personal wedding ceremony I’ve ever seen. Matt entered his ceremony with his hands in the air and everyone stood up and applauded. They did rock paper scissors to determine who said their vows first. Each guest was given a flower upon entering and Rachel’s Dad created her bouquet minutes before the ceremony started. And afterward – everyone paraded out of the corn fields and into the most epic musical festival led by Derek Hall of The Block Party complete with festival lights, smoke machines and glow sticks.
I will forever feel grateful for being the one who wielded a camera on this day. I’ve known Rachel sine I was a little girl – and she has always been a huge ball of joy. Her and Matt are an incredible team – and I couldn’t be happier for the two of them.
