Jenn + Dave

About two months ago, two very special people took a road trip from Toronto to L.A. and back. Jenn and Dave Stark are the kind of people who even before you meet them you know you want to be best friends with them. They are sincere and completely real. I don’t know how I stumbled upon their photography page, but that obviously then led to following them on instagram and twitter, which led to me KIND OF stalking them … and then doing what all wedding photographers do, and becoming internet friends. Thankfully, because of this internet friendship, I learned about their Roads Less Traveled project and their plan to tell out-of-the-norm stories this November as they travel the US.

You’ll learn more about this later when they get to share their journey, but Jenn and Dave spent a great deal of time with my family. My family is a a bit different, that’s for sure. My brother, Trevor, is 21 and has autism. He’s one special guy and so are my parents … and I really wanted someone to help tell them that they are special and capture the little moments of our life. Turns out Jenn and Dave wanted to do that. Their instant acceptance of my family and my little life in Grand Haven was really astounding. They took it all in – didn’t think we were crazy – and were so much fun to have around. They even snapped a few photos of Jake and I, and our new puppy McCoy.

I still can’t get over that the day these two were in town it was sunny and 50 degrees in Michigan. We were able to walk the pier and do all of the very “Grand Havenesque” things that all tourists must do. We ended our nights with wine, good company and good food. (Thanks for cooking Dave!)

These two really are special people who put everyone they meet first. Their hearts are gigantic and they seriously make everyone happy. I don’t know how they do it, but I’m so glad I was able to meet them and change internet friends into real friends. Dave and Jenn — I love you guys and I’m so happy to have spent this time with you two! Thank you for everything. xo.
