Jake and Sarah are two absolutely incredibly unique people. And their wedding was nothing short of amazing. Sarah and I began emailing about a year ago and when we both discovered we were designers and sweatpants-fanatics, I knew that we would not only become a great team, but also great friends. And their wedding was one of those that I had circled three times on my calendar because I was so excited for it. Their wedding was the complete mash-up of everything that they love and are. Sarah wore a short pink dress, Jake wore a hot pink v-neck. (Whether or not that was Sarah’s choice or his … we will never know, this guy has such a big heart I think he would do anything for the love of his life, really). Their wedding took place in the morning and their reception was a brunch with donuts, bagels, mimosas and bloody mary’s. Heck, they even got tattoos as engagement rings. Sarah designed every invite/signage and prop and they looked so, so great. From ombre table-seating cards to perfect jars of herbs on the table it was so unique and SO Sarah.
Though I had just met Sarah and Jake that day, I bawled like a baby during their vows. Their humor and love for each other is so immense that you can’t help but feel completely washed over by it. Jake even pulled out a note that he had written to her in high school asking if she would marry him (to which she answered eventually). By the sounds and looks of it these two have never doubted that they were each others soul mate, and with that knowledge they have pushed forward and had what looks like the most fun and exciting relationship together.
Their reception playlist was purely 90′s, they served macaroni and cheese and they gave me full artistic license to do whatever I wanted with photos. Talk about the perfect wedding, right? And to top things off, after the official reception, the wedding party and friends went down to the beach and drank, hung out and swam. Yes, Sarah and Jake even went swimming in their wedding attire. My favorite photos from their wedding actually took place at that beach … the fall skies and bright blue beach was absolutely perfect.
Sarah and Jake set the bar high for what a marriage should be like. I mean, on Jake’s iPhone his only person in his Favorites section is Sarah. Not a joke. They put each other first and their wedding day was truly a day of celebration. I am so so blessed to have been a part of it and to have gained two amazing new friends. Leave these two some love, as this day was so special to them, and is to me too!
