Hard to believe that I met Katie while dressed as a pirate on a trivia-cruise last summer, and then she trusted me to take her wedding photos? You just never know when you’re going to meet your future clients, and when they hire you because they LIKE you (even dressed as a pirate) you know that fate played a part in that. Never would I have thought that someone I had met so quickly and had a beer with would let me spend one of the most memorable days of their life with them. Life’s crazy cool isn’t it?
And gosh, these two. I give couples with men in the service so much credit. To enter into a relationship, loving each other so much that you are willing to let them go for an extended period of time is absolutely amazing to me. There has to be such a large amount of love in trust in a relationship for that to work, and Derek and Katie HAVE that special thing. When they’re together it’s clear that they are meant to be. They finish each others thoughts, their laughter is simultaneous and I couldn’t get enough of them this day. Katie and Derek — thank you so much for trusting me and letting me be such a big part of your day. I can’t wait to hear more about your journeys and to see you two grow more and more! Let’s hangout sometime, okay?
