April & Gordie // WEDDING

Laughter. Smiling. Dancing. April and Gordie’s wedding in Bay City and Frankenmuth was full of an abundance of those things. I have never seen such a joyful bride hand in hand with a groom beaming from head to toe. There’s no way you can hangout with April and Gordie and not find yourself laughing hysterically. These two are just pure joy. I met April my sophomore year of college when we danced in the same concert. I’m not sure we ever spoke that entire time, but we did become Facebook friends, and lets be real guys … you end up stalking each other and feeling like you’re besties. We have a common love for theater, Harry Potter, and dancing. So, when April asked me last summer to be her wedding photographer, I was thrilled. Not only was I able to be amongst fellow Spartan alumni, but I was at the biggest dance party EVER. Usually a bride will stay on the floor for a couple of songs, and then continue to mingle … not April. She was out there the whole time with her wonderful bridesmaids and friends. I don’t think it’s appropriate that I listen to anything other than “Wobble” while editing their photos. And Gordie? Did I mention that he was the MOST organized groom I have ever met! Not only did he provide me with the most detailed e-mails of itinerary, but he let me and my second-shooter (heyo Jillian! — check her out, she’s fab) spend the night at his house the day before the wedding. It was a night complete with a power outage. What a way to start your wedding weekend?!

So thank YOU April and Gordie. For showing me that weddings can and should be the biggest and best party of your lives. And for treating me like I was one of the family, and most of all, for completely trusting my judgement. There is nothing better than a bride and groom who let you have full reign during photo time. I appreciate from the bottom of my heart your willingness to just let me DO MY THING.

Oh and to whoever is reading this? Please note, and appreciate the BEST stank-face that I have ever seen. Props to you April, props to you. Love you and Gordie both.

Is this not THE COOLEST ring set you have ever seen?! Seriously in love. This is April’s reaction to seeing herself in her dress. Looooooove it.THIS. FACE. Yes.
