Jyl and Matt // WEDDING

I have absolutely no idea how I could possibly convey just how wonderful this day was. Jyl and Matt — who you have seen HERE … are two of the most kind and genuine people I have ever met. I actually felt like I was a part of their family for their wedding day (which, in a way, I sort of am … long story) as they completely trusted me with every single aspect. There is nothing better than having your clients give you full artistic ability and let you BE yourself. Even after meeting them for the first time I immediately felt as though I was hanging out with friends I had known since I was a child. Their love is inspiring and boy, their wedding was the most beautiful, personal thing I had ever seen. There I was, behind my lens in the back of the ceremony, bawling my eyes out as Matt serenaded Jyl to “Fools Rush In” with the rest of his acapella friends. Their vows were beautiful, unique and had everyone feeling a rush of warmth. There was no maid of honor, or best man … each person involved in the wedding was able to give a tiny token to the married couple representing some sort of “advice” or blessing that they explained to the rest of the audience. Their officiant, Liz, gave the perfect testimony describing their love … one that made you truly understand how special marriage is, and how special the two standing in front of us are.

Oh, and did I mention that this wedding was at Beber Campground’s in Mukwonago? And that hours before the ceremony we were all hanging out and doing a little beer, cheese and wine tasting? And after that Matt went on a high ropes course about 40 feet into the air? And then, after the reception, everyone slept in cabins? Does it get more fun than that?! I don’t think so.

The other thing that I enjoyed so much about this wedding was that everyone was so laid back. No one was stressed out (at least from what I could tell) and everyone was so full of joy. Jyl, who looked beautiful, was hugging her bridesmaids and complimenting them so much that you would have thought they were getting married. And that’s how these two are. They are always building those around them up and making the world (seriously) a better place. I am so humbled and honored that I was able to be a part of their special day and I have no doubt that their married life is just busting with joy right now.

So, anyone who wants to have a little but of a non-traditional wedding? Call me. Anyone who wants to spend three days at a camp-site and do beer cheese and wine tasting? Call me, I’m your girl. And matt and Jyl? Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

This was Jyl when she was going to see Matt sneak by before the ceremony, but last minute (right after this) she ran into the bedroom and said “I don’t want to see him yet!!!” It was so cute.Okay I’m tearing up again. How cute are they?! True love.Yep, there were tears all around.I swear, this was not posed. I went in to get my camera bags and this is what they were doing outside the cabin.:)They’re both teachers … so we snuck into an abandoned classroom! So much fun.
